Is it painful to install rib extensions?
No, installing a strip extension is not painful at all. I don’t have a sensitive scalp myself, so it wasn’t a problem for me at all. You may feel a slight headache for the first 24-48 hours due to the weight and tightness of the extensions, but that should be all.
How long will it take to install the strip extensions?
What’s great about strip extensions is how quickly they are installed!You’re out of the salon in less than 3 hours! This time includes colouring, cutting and styling.
If you’ve had hair extensions before, you know that’s a big plus! And when it’s time to adjust them after 6-8 weeks, it only takes 5 minutes to remove them, as natural pearl hair extensions don’t use glue or tape, and then you repeat the application process again with the same hair material.
Washing and brushing instructions for strip extensions:
- Brush extensions through with a special extension brush BEFORE washing, this will help prevent tangles and hair sticking together in wet hair.

- Use the shampoo gently between the lines, no intense rubbing needed.
- Apply a special detangling spray and oil to hair before brushing wet hair after washing.
- When brushing, start at the roots and gradually work your way upwards to the scalp.
- Hold the hair in one hand (like a ponytail) and brush downwards.

Styling instructions for strip extensions:
- Separate your natural hair from the extensions, pin up your own hair and dry the extensions first; this will help prevent over-drying of natural hair.
- Dry extensions to about 80% with just a hair dryer and your hands. Don’t brush very damp hair. This also applies to visits to beauty salons. If you like a weekly blow-dry, tell your hairdresser not to use a round brush to dry extensions from start to finish while hair is still wet.
- If you want to curl your hair, let the curler slide between the curling tongs once or twice to smooth the hair, then curl. This will give your extensions a shinier look.

Important to remember:
- If you notice excessive tangles or hair loss, contact us as there can be a quick solution if dealt with immediately.
- You can do different hairstyles with bar extensions: high ponytail (wait about 1 week after extensions), braid, all possible styles are welcome, you can live a normal and active lifestyle.
- Especially for blonde hair: use a mineral-based sunscreen and avoid getting it on your extensions, it can turn your hair pink!
- You can swim with strip extensions, just add oil and brush them when you come out of the water (never put wet tangled hair in a crown and let it dry, otherwise it will go matt!).)
